One thing first graders do is "Do Books!", as Marisol says. Not only do we read them, we write them and even make them.

Marisol, Alex, Angel, and Lindsi entered KEET TV's Reading Rainbow Young Writers' and Illustrators Contest. They worked hard: doing revisions, matching words to illustrations, counting their words, and working on a deadline. We're very proud of them! We have other authors with many works in progress, too.

Lindsi's story, which is actually a letter she wrote to apologize for losing her library book, was chosen as the first grade winner! KEET made it into a movie. Here's our version:

Our Learning Goals

The first few weeks, we talked about our learning goals and answered the question "What kind of place do we want this to be, so we can meet our goals?"

We created some ways to be together:
Be safe. Be kind. Do your best. It's our class constitution!
